United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have increased deportation of foreign nationals.  ICE has stepped up its deportation of foreign nationals charged with crimes or convicted of criminal offenses.  Even legal permanent residents and visa holders can face deportation if convicted of certain "aggravated felony" crimes.

If you are a noncitizen, a conviction for an aggravated felony will mean serious consequences - regardless of your immigration status and the length of time you have resided in the United States; you will  face deportation proceedings  and separation from your family members in the United States.  You will not be able to apply for most forms of relief from deportation such as asylum, cancellation of removal or even a waiver.
